Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains is an upcoming turn-based strategy game based on the popular anime

Komoe Game has just announced pre-registrations for Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains. It is an officially licensed turn-based strategy game that is set to release on Android and iOS. The game is scheduled to release later this year and players can currently sign up in advance to earn several rewards.

Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains takes players on a gamified version of the popular series in a card-based format. It follows the tale of Ken Kaneki, the main protagonist who is a student at Kamii University. His life transformed when he received an organ transplant from the ghoul Rize Kamishiro, becoming a ghoul himself.

Ken must now survive in the world of the ghouls on his own. It is a dark and twisted world and Ken soon finds himself in the midst of vicious cycles that he can’t seem to escape. The game recreates most of these iconic moments from the anime plot as players immerse themselves in the Tokyo Ghoul world which originally debuted in 2011.

As for the gameplay, Break the Chains follows the classic turn-based card game format which involves chaining identical cards to unleash powerful attacks. What matters is the order in which the skills are used as their activation will determine the outcome of the match.

In addition to the exhilarating card battles, players can also test their skills against others in a PvP mode. Players can further team up with their buddies and take on difficult bosses in the arena. Here, they can also spar with each other and engage in other aspects of strategic gameplay.
