Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Goa to inaugurate India Energy Week 2024 on Tuesday. He will also dedicate to the nation the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology apart from laying foundation stones for various projects costing more than Rs 1,330 crore.

At around 10.30 pm, the PM will inaugurate the ONGC Sea Survival Centre. At around 10:45 am, he will inaugurate India Energy Week 2024. Thereafter, at around 2:45 pm, he will participate in the 'Viksit Bharat', 'Viksit' Goa 2047 programme.

India Energy Week 2024
Striving for energy self-reliance has remained a top priority for the Prime Minister. In yet another step in this direction, India Energy Week 2024 will be held from 6 - 9 February in Goa.

This event stands as India's largest and sole comprehensive energy exhibition and conference, uniting the entire energy value chain to propel the nation's energy transition aspirations. During the event, the Prime Minister will engage in a roundtable discussion with global oil & gas CEOs and experts.

"Encouraging and fostering startups and integrating them into the energy value chain will be an important focus for India Energy Week 2024. It is expected to witness the participation of around 17 Energy ministers from different countries, 35,000+ attendees and more than 900 exhibitors. It will have six dedicated country pavilions - Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, the UK and the USA. A special Make in India Pavilion is also being organised to showcase innovative solutions which Indian MSMEs are spearheading in the energy sector," a statement from the PMO said.

'Viksit Bharat'
The Prime Minister is set to commence and lay the groundwork for projects valued at over Rs 1,330 crore during a public event in Goa.

He will officially open the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa. The newly constructed campus is equipped with various amenities including tutorial complexes, departmental complexes, seminar facilities, administrative buildings, hostels, a health center, staff quarters, an amenity center, a sports ground, and other utilities to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff.

The PM will dedicate the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports. This institute will offer 28 specialized courses focused on promoting the development of watersports and water rescue activities for both the general public and the Armed Forces. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a state-of-the-art Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa. This facility has been designed to scientifically handle 60 TPD of wet waste and 40 TPD of dry waste. It also includes a 500 KW solar power plant that generates excess electricity.

As per the statement, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Passenger Ropeway, along with associated tourism activities, connecting Panaji and Reis Magos. The foundation stone for the construction of a 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant in South Goa will be laid by him. Further, he will also distribute appointment orders to 1930 new Government recruits across various departments under Rozgar Mela and also hand over sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.

ONGC Sea Survival Centre
The ONGC Sea Survival Centre has been created to elevate the Indian sea survival training industry to a global level. This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind and aims to train 10,000-15,000 individuals each year. Through simulated and controlled adverse weather conditions, trainees will improve their sea survival skills, ultimately enhancing their ability to safely escape real-life emergencies, the statement added.
