LRT Jabodebek Fare Set at Rp1 during Soft Launching; Here's How to Get Tickets

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe soft launching of LRT Jabodebek on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, is marked by a limited trial run for the public until August 15, 2023. The train fare is set at Rp1 per person.

During the trial run, the number of passengers is limited to 600 per day as the operator will only operate four train sets.

The integrated light-rail train connecting Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi has a maximum speed of 80 km per hour and operates without a driver. It has eight train cars in each set that can carry 1,480 passengers in total.

President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is scheduled to officially inaugurate the opration of the automated train on August 18, 2023.

LRT Jabodebek’s Manager for Public Relations, Kuswardojo, said the train fare is proposed to start from Rp5,000 until Rp25,000 for the farthest distance. The first five-kilometer is charged at Rp5,000-7,000, and an additional Rp850-1,200 for each kilometer of a trip.

How to Get LRT Jabodebek Soft Launching Tickets

As announced on Monday, July 10, on the Jabodebek LRT Instagram account @lrt_jabodebek, people who are interested in trying out to ride the automated train can register themselves through the link available on all LRT Jabodebek’s social media.

After the form is submitted, the LRT Jabodebek team will send a confirmation regarding the trip itinerary via SMS, WhatsApp, or email. The proof of confirmation serves as a ticket that can be shown to officers at the LRT station.

Would-be passengers are required to bring a valid e-money card or multi-trip card (KMT) and follow the travel routes determined by LRT Jabodebek.
