Blake Shinn, Melbourne’s leading jockey and last season’s Scobie Breasley medalist, is set to adopt a busy travel schedule after his suspension ends on December 20.

He plans to ride in Queensland, New Zealand, and Victoria during the festive season.

Shinn will restart his racing at Flemington, then base himself in Brisbane for four weeks, also making trips to New Zealand.

His itinerary starts with the Queensland Summer Carnival at Eagle Farm on December 23.

He’s also lined up for the Group 1 meeting at Pukekohe Park on Boxing Day, where he’ll ride Molly Bloom in the G2 Eight Carat Stakes.

The focus of his Queensland stay is the Magic Millions Carnival, where he aims to leverage his experience as a previous two-year-old classic winner.

Shinn will balance his commitments between Queensland and Victorian races, including the traditional Flemington meeting on New Year’s Day and the Karaka Millions meeting at Ellerslie on January 27.

He’ll also participate in Victorian jumpouts in preparation for the autumn season, with his last Queensland meeting set for January 13 before returning to Melbourne.
