Eying the Madhya Pradesh polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in the poll-bound state on Monday, September 25, to address a mega “Mahakumbh” rally. Several schools have declared holiday due to the anticipated heavy traffic congestion in view of the Prime Minister’s visit to Bhopal. 

The ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ is being organised on the birth anniversary of Jana Sangh co-founder Deendayal Upadhyaya to mark the formal culmination of the BJP's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatras'. The saffron camp is reportedly expecting a gathering of 10 lakh people at the event to demonstrate the party's strength.

The rally will be held in Bhopal's Jamboree Maidan. The event is a part of the BJP's launch of a series of five yatras earlier this month. The first yatra was inugurated by BJP national president JP Nadda in Chitrakoot, Satna, on September 3. 

Itinerary of PM Modi’s MP visit 

September 25, 2023

  • 09:35 am: PM Modi to depart from Delhi airport 

  • 10:55 am: Prime Minister scheduled to arrive at Bhopal airport by IAF BBJ Bhopal Airport

  • 11: 00 am: PM will then depart for Bhopal Airport by MI-17 Helicopter for Jamboree Maidan Helipad

  • 11:30 am to 12:30 pm: Karyakarta Mahakumbh

  • 12:30 pm: Venue of Public Meeting by Road Jamboree Maidan Helipad

The Prime Minister will then depart for Rajasthan. He will address a public meeting on the outskirts of Jaipur on Monday, September 25, to mark the end of 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatras' taken out by the BJP in poll-bound Rajasthan. 

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly election is scheduled to take place later this year and will see a tough battle between the ruling BJP and the Congress. With slogan “abki bar 150 par” (victory in more than 150 seats), the saffron camp is confident of reclaiming its power in the central state. Meanwhile, the Congress party has also launched a counter campiagn "Jan Akrosh Yatra" in the state to highlight the "failures" of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led state government.
